Executives of the Cuban Embassy here delivered the decoration “60th Anniversary of ICAP” (Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples), on behalf of Fernando Gonzalez, president of that organization, based in Havana.
The Embassy’s third secretary Yandri Peña told Prensa Latina that the winners were the Angola-Cuba friendship association, the Association of former Angolan students in Cuba (known as Caimaneros), and the Angolan League of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples.
Peña explained that the decoration is granted exceptionally and only once to international institutions with an outstanding track record in defense of the Cuban Revolution and have contributed to strengthening friendship between the different countries.
The meetings, he said, favored the exchange about the situation in Cuba, the increase of unilateral sanctions by the US Government that tightened the economic, financial and commercial blockade, and the attempts to subvert Cuba’s internal order, promoted by the northern country.
