The state of the links between the two organizations and the execution of the scholarship program offered by the Russian Government to the Caribbean island, were some of the issues reviewed by both officials.
The exchange where other directors of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia also participated, Saborido and Falkov addressed specificities of doctoral plans in Russia, based on Cuba’s interest in promoting the training of doctors in the Eurasian country.
On the other hand, the Russian minister expressed interest in promoting the learning of the Spanish language in Cuban institutions for his students, the website announced.
Saborido extended to the Russian official an invitation to the 2022 University International Congress, to be held in the Antillean nation from February 7 to 11, in which both will sign a cooperation agreement on issues related to earth sciences, agriculture and biology.
He also revealed that next year the meeting between Cuban and Russian rectors will meet in another opportunity to continue developing the bilateral exchange.
The highest representative of Cuban higher education also spoke during the visit with Evgueni Primakov, president of Rossotrudnichestvo, the agency in charge of scholarships offered by the Russian Government.
Out of the 100 capacities granted to Cuba annually, Saborido recognized the quality of training, in specialties that are in line with the nation’s economic and social development plan.
