Choi’s remark came at the 17th South Korea-Middle East Cooperation Forum, which was attended in person and virtually by officials and private experts from the two parties.
In his keynote speech, Choi noted that relations between South Korea and the region are steadily developing in a future-oriented way, according to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The deputy foreign minister called to explore new areas of cooperation as they prepare for a post-pandemic era.
The semiofficial forum was launched in 2003 to discuss ways to boost friendship and cooperation between South Korea and the Middle East.
This 17th edition was cosponsored by the South Korean-Arab Society, the Jeju Peace Institute, from South Korea; and the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, from the United Arab Emirates.
