At a meeting with the international observers and the foreign reporters accredited here, Moncada assured that these elections represent an exercise to defense the homeland and the will of more than four million voters.
The foreign minister added that all 250 representatives from 27 countries are “advanced, progressive figures and advocate for the truth,” and mentioned President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo as the candidates from the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).
In addition to the FSLN, the Constitutionalist Liberal Party (in office from 1996 to 2006 with Arnoldo Aleman and Enrique Bolaños), the Nicaraguan Party of the Christian Path, the Nicaraguan Liberal Alliance Party, the Alliance for the Republic Party and the Independent Liberal Party will participate in the elections.
