In a communique, SCA Chairman Osama Rabie said that cruise ships and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers will be excluded from this increase, due to the serious global crisis that affected the sector because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The SCA is willing to apply a “balanced and flexible” marketing and pricing strategy that fulfills the interests of the authority and its clients and takes into account the global economic conditions, the text stressed.
According to the SCA, nearly 1,850 vessels crossed the Suez Canal in October, with a tonnage of 112.1 million tons, a record figure in its history.
