“Sponsored by Teatro El Mirón Cubano, this time the chosen spaces are less favored neighborhoods on the periphery of the city,” María Antonia Simeón, a specialist from the Provincial Council of Performing Arts of Matanzas (Cpaem), told Prensa Latina.
These communities will gather for four nights and simultaneously in three areas each day, with programs that will include theater, dance, circus, oral narration, and book presentations, among others, Simeón added.
“Functions have also been included in other places and each location has been studied, in order to guarantee compliance with the protocols designed to control the epidemiological situation,” added the Cpaem communicator.
The program, she added, will include the inauguration of photo exhibitions and tributes to leading figures on the scene linked to this specialty.
Together with Mirón Cubano, host of the event two decades ago, they will celebrate closed collective anniversaries with an outstanding trajectory in the exploration of scenic aesthetics such as Morón Teatro and Andante.
According to the agenda, this eleventh edition will have a meeting for reflection and exchange, on the different practices of intervention in public spaces in times of pandemic.
“One of the most attractive moments will be The Longest Function, in which for a whole day the groups will show their work to an audience eager for this distinctive tradition of the Day”, highlighted Simeón.
The Cpaem expressed that this fest gathers every two years in the tricentennial Matanzas, a great street arts festival.
