The Times of Israel stated that the discovery paves the way for new drugs to fight the disease and leads to therapies that halt havoc wrought on vascular system.
In statements to the online newspaper, Dr. Ben Maoz, of Tel Aviv University, explained that his team analyzed all 29 proteins of the virus.
“We have identified the five proteins that put patients at increased risk of strokes, heart attacks and other problems associated with the vascular system,” Maoz stressed.
We not only discover which proteins have an impact on the vascular system, but also how they exert their effect, he stressed.
