Reorganization of medical services in Camaguey province

Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 4 (Prensa Latina) In one of the provinces with the largest health infrastructure in the country, the gradual reincorporation of several medical services marks this day, after a decrease in the number of Covid-19 positive cases.

Health authorities informed in a press conference that the deactivation of isolation centers and the reorganization of several hospital wards allow this week to reinstate services to the population that had been affected by the number of infections that forced a restructuring for the management of the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, since 2020.

According to the website of Radio Cadena Agramonte, there are “about 40 beds for intensive therapy wards for critical and serious patients again, and the work in the surveillance units in hospitals is strengthened, with the availability of anti-inflammatory and other drugs”.

According to Lorena Reitor, deputy provincial director of Medical Assistance, “the medical services of the Military Hospital and the Amalia Simoni Surgical Clinic are reinforced in this sense”.

Meanwhile, at the Oncological Teaching Provincial Hospital, specialized care continues with radio and chemotherapy treatment, while the various admission wards are not neglected, including those of other municipalities in a region that covers more than 16,000 square kilometers, the largest of Cuba.

Camagüey, which still has the highest number of contagions and people affected by Covid-19, is not neglecting precisely the protocols and health care for the fight against the pandemic, although the progress of the vaccination process, as well as several measures adopted by the Temporary Group organized by the Provincial Government have allowed the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the reduction of mortality rates.
