During this period, the mass media will be at the disposal of the Supreme Electoral Council to broadcast news related to the elections, after which the president, vice-president and the legislators to the National Assembly and the Latin American Parliament (PARLACEN) will be elected.
On September 25, the electoral campaign formally began for all political parties involved in these elections, although the Nicaragua Triunfa United Alliance, led by the National Sandinista Liberation Front (FSLN), made it official on October 4, in tribute to General Benjamin Zeledon.
According to Moises Absalon, candidate for legislator of the National Assembly, this year’s campaign, as a consequence of the world epidemiological situation, lacked mass demonstrations in public squares, caravans or other partisan statements to attract voters.
