Nhan Dan, official newspaper of the Communist Party, highlighted that the visit coincides with Vietnam’s efforts to revive trade and international cooperation after the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minh Chinh expects to meet with top French leaders and participate in the France-Vietnam Business Forum, an opportunity so that the two sides can boost their relations in several fields, the publication noted.
Speaking to that newspaper, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery assured that the Southeast Asia, and particularly Vietnam, are playing an important role in the foreign policy of his country and Europe in general.
France is Vietnam’s fifth largest trading partner in Europe and ranked third among European nation for investments in this nation, with 605 projects with a capital of 3.60 billion dollars. Bilateral trade in 2020 reached 4.81 billion dollars.
Minh Chinh traveled to France from the United Kingdom, where he participated in the Summit on Climate Change convened by the United Nations and paid a working visit.
