In this regard, Mr. Guterres reiterated his call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and unrestricted humanitarian access to deliver pressing life-saving assistance to the restive northern regions; Tigray, Amhara and Afar.
The UN chief also asks for “an inclusive national dialogue to resolve this crisis and create the foundation for peace and stability throughout the country.”
On Tuesday, Ethiopian government declared a state of emergency at national level in order to protect its population from the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) actions, according to local reports.
