For the occasion, which will be marked by the phrase “I will not forget that day, I am part of the national army”, vigils, blood donations and other events will be held in all regional states of the country, according to the government communications service.
The main commemoration, according to the statement, will take place at 09:00 local time on November 4, “when millions of citizens will hold their hands on their chests for 45 seconds to remember the national heroes massacred by the terrorist group”.
Since last November 4, the government has been engaged in a confrontation against the Front, an organization accused of subverting the constitutional order and violating human rights, among other crimes, and declared terrorist by the Parliament.
The hostilities also cover the regional states of Afar and Amhara, where civilians, livestock, crops, schools, assistance centers, camps for displaced persons and even mosques are targeted by the group, according to repeated official reports.
