Egypt calls on rich countries to fulfill promises on climate change

London, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) Egypt called on developed countries to fulfill their promise to deliver 100 billion dollars a year to nations with fewer resources to combat climate change, one of the problems humanity is currently facing.

We remain concerned about the gap between the finance available and the actual needs of the developing countries to fight that problem, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said when he addressed the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.

Africa is not responsible for the climate crisis, but the continent will suffer the most from its consequences, El-Sisi warned.

For this reason, he urged the international community to give special treatment to the region in view of the several challenges it faces.

The president called to work to reduce the average global temperature by 1.5 degrees Celsius.
