The national director of Epidemiology Dr. Francisco Duran, reported the deaths of four patients due to complications associated with the disease, for a total of 8,240 during the same period.
Cuba confirmed 6,204 contagions and 750 deaths during the week that concluded on October 30, Duran said. He added that 160,232 samples were processed for the diagnosis of the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the week.
Regarding the diagnosis in people under 20 years of age, Cuba reported 1,050 patients, for a daily average of 150, and 112 new cases were confirmed on Sunday in that population group, the lowest figure since last April. Dr Duran reiterated the call to maintain hygienic-sanitary measures to avoid contagion.
He reported 3,892 active cases in hospitals in the 43rd week, much lower than previously.
