Taking stock of the pandemic situation, the President specified that at the end of October the health authorities counted 20 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 6 times below the figures reported the previous week.
Maduro stressed that as of this Monday the Government will enact the announced relaxation of restrictive measures, to favor the development of socio-economic activity during the months of November and December.
He also indicated that 67 percent of the population elligible to be vaccinated against Covid-19 is already fully immunized, with a view to reaching 95 percent coverage by next December 31st.
Maduro announced the country will get this week the doses destined for children over two years to be incorporated into the campaign, while the immunization of the population between 12 and 18 years-old, which began the previous week, is underway.
The Venezuelan health authorities reported 407,151 cases of Covid-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic, with 390,657 patients recovered and a fatal toll of 4,891 people who died as a result of the disease.
