According to the media, the situation continues to be tense in Khartoum, where protesters set up barricades, with an ongoing defiant campaign of civil disobedience against the coup.

Last Monday, General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman al-Burhan dissolved the government, declared a state of emergency and detained civilian leaders, all of which provoked rejection both inside and out of the country, as well as mobilized the Sudanese in the so-called Million March, held on Saturday.

According to estimations there were public demonstrations in 25 cities of the country and in fifty capitals around the world.

The Sudan Medical Committee, a relevant civil society group, said that there are many injured in hospitals in Khartoum as well as in the provinces, and promised it will offer more information on the matter later on.

On Saturday, the Committee said two had died from shots fired by security forces in the city of Omdurman.
