This was highlighted by the national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Durán, who informed that 7.11 million 110 thousand (63.6 percent) of the total of just over 11 million 180 thousand inhabitants received either three doses of Abdala, or two of Soberana 02 and one of Soberana Plus.
In the case of the latter drug, designed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV), convalescents with two months or more after having suffered from the pandemic receive this single booster shot. Durán, in his daily television conference, said that nine million 832,329 people (87.9 percent) have at least one dose of Soberana 02, also from the IFV, or Abdala, developed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
Likewise, 8,859,570 (79.2 percent) have been administered a second injection of these vaccines.
Since the beginning of the anti-Covid-19 immunization last March, Cuba has applied 25 million 510 thousand 679, which include children and young people between two and 18 years of age.
