This was reported by National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, who said that 7,110,019 (63.6 percent) of the total population of just over 11,180,000 inhabitants have received three shots of Abdala, two of Soberana 02 and one of Soberana Plus.
Soberana Plus, a single-dose vaccine conceived by the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV), is for convalescents who recovered from the pandemic two or more months before the shot.
Dr. Duran said at his daily press briefing on television that 9,832,329 people (87.9 percent) have been administered at least a dose of Soberana 02, also from the IFV, or Abdala, developed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
Moreover, 8,859,570 (79.2 percent) people have received two shots of these vaccines.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 immunization in March, at first with vaccine candidates that later became vaccines, Cuba has administered 25,510,679 doses, including children and teenagers between 2 and 18 years of age.
