Chinese capital demands booster doses to the vaccinated

Beijing, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The capital demanded today that employees of public services, construction and sectors considered vulnerable or at risk, get a third dose of vaccines against Covid-19, as a reinforcement in the face of the current outbreak.

The local government explained that it seeks to increase the immune protection of the population, since there are already 27 patients with the disease and some are workers who did not even leave the city recently.

The city is mobilized, mass PCR tests are carried out, and several neighborhoods are declared at risk of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes the disease.

The week started under strong restrictions on public activities and a ban on the entry of travelers from other provinces, especially those with recent cases of Covid-19.

Authorities began vaccinating children of ages between 3 and 11, and arrested two individuals for refusing to cooperate with epidemiological investigations.

Beijing is one of the regions affected in China by the reemergence of Covid-19 with the Delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

This new wave forced the confinement of entire cities in provinces such as Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and Gansu.
