Pesquero beach, small paradise

Holguin, Cuba, (Prensa Latina) The tourist resort of Holguín, on the northern coast of eastern Cuba, is one of the island's most privileged thanks to the great natural wealth of its territory, with the presence of paradisiacal beaches.

About 30 of them are used by the hospitality industry and among them Pesquero beach, with more than 1,000 meters of horseshoe-shaped extension and turquoise waters, in contrast with the intense green of the vegetation and the ivory white of the fine sand.

It is not by chance that it is among the favorites of locals and those who visit it once always return to the resort, which is located about 50 kilometers (about 50 minutes by car) from the city of Holguín and at a distance of about 63 kilometers from the Frank País International Airport.

For the enjoyment of its natural attributes, there are three hotel facilities with high quality standards and services, explained Carlos Álvarez, sales director of the Ministry of Tourism delegation in the province, in conversation with Prisma.

Of these, Pesquero and Costa Verde are owned by the Playa brand, belonging to Gaviota group, while the Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort is managed by the Indonesian hotel company Archipelago International.

Playa Pesquero -with 1,000 rooms- was at the time of its opening, in January 2003, the one with the largest lodging capacity in the country. The leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, inaugurated the five-star facility and said that the center was intended for ‘tourism of peace, health and safety, which can be enjoyed by children and families, young people and adults’.

Adventure, fun and relaxation are also assured in the resort, where there are several sites for the use of non-motorized equipment, said Álvarez.

Other attractive options are at the Marinas Gaviota diving center –with service for hotel guests-, since the beach is ideal for activities such as snorkeling because it has a coral reef very close to the coast, just a five-minute boat ride away.

Pesquero is a small paradise, very popular among vacationers, due to the impressive natural values of its ecosystem, the quality of its facilities and a service designed to enjoy unforgettable and repeatable experiences.
