The states of New York and New Jersey were warned with emergency bulletins, while 39 million persons in the New England region are in danger of flash flooding, reported the NBC network.
The Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, said in a press conference, that 50 to 76 inches of rain have fallen since last night and 40 miles per hour winds were felt at the La Guardia airport.
Experts warn that the situation can worsen tomorrow afternoon when waves on the east coast may reach 8 to 11 feet high, reported CNN network.
Still, the storm in the east coast will not be as fierce as the one that hit the western coast last weekend, but it can still become a bomb hurricane, meteorological phenomena relatively normal for this time of the year in the US, caused by low pressure systems, said experts.
