Argentina to apply booster against Covid-19 and vaccinate tourists

Buenos Aires, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) Argentina confirmed today to apply a third booster dose of the Sinopharm vaccine against Covid-19 for people over 50 years old and immunosuppressed persons, while tourists entering the country will also be able to be vaccinated.

On a press briefing, the Ministers of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and of Tourism and Sports, Matias Lammens, explained the new measures that will be implemented in the upcoming days, taking into account the resumption of the entry of foreign tourists as of November 1, which includes the setting up of safe sanitary corridors.

Vizzotti detailed that as of 2022, reinforcements will be given to those people who have been vaccinated for over a year with the complete scheme of two injections, as well as to healthcare personnel, who were the first to do so at the beginning of the vaccination schedule, in December 2020.

Meanwhile, she advanced that those who come to Argentina for tourism will be able to be vaccinated, taking into account such practice that is also carried out in other nations, which will allow reaching an increasingly higher level of immunization in the country, having already accumulated 85 million doses of different vaccines against the pandemic.

In addition, the minister added that it will no longer be necessary to take an antigen test to enter the , and detailed the sanitary situation, which has allowed a gradual return to life, specifying that today no urban agglomerate is in epidemiological alarm.

With a view to the summer season in the country, Minister Lammens pointed out that the internationalization of airports in Argentina is a fact because more and more airlines are arriving, and during the previous months we have been working on several lines of action to preserve the destination.

We are working with all foreign airlines, he said adding that in 2022 we will have the same amount of seats available before the pandemic.
