During his stay, Peñalver will also develop a parallel work agenda which will include, among others, an official meeting with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci), Marina Sereni; and the Secretary General of the Italian-Latin American Institute (IILA), Antonella Cavallari.
The Caribbean nation’s deputy foreign minister will also meet with the chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Vito Petrocelli, and foreign ministers and deputy foreign ministers of other Latin American countries.
In addition, he will hold meetings with a representation of the community of Cubans living in Italy and the broad movement of solidarity with Cuba in this country, the note states.
‘People, Planet and Prosperity. Future of an old partnership’, is the central theme of the meeting in correspondence with the three concepts raised by this European nation during its current rotating presidency of the G20, whose last annual summit is scheduled here from the 30th to the 31st of this month.
The two-day event, organized by Maeci and IILA, will dedicate the first day to the ‘Falcone-Borselino Program’ for training and legal technical assistance in security matters with some countries of the region.
Tomorrow the meeting will be in session with an opening ceremony after which participants will work simultaneously in three groups, with panels linked to Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030, said a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
