Luis Almagro and OAS played a disastrous role in Bolivia

report-on-bolivia-will-show-almagros-transgressions
La Paz, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian press today branded as dismal the role played by the Organization of American States (OAS) and its secretary general, Luis Almagro, during the 2019 coup against then President Evo Morales.

An editorial in the newspaper El Pueblo entitled ‘Once again, Bolivia demonstrates to the world that there was no fraud’ judged Almagro, who was absent from an international political forum held on Friday with experts.

‘He did not face the investigations presented; with this he makes it clear that he does not have the necessary ethics to take responsibility for his actions ‘.

The newspaper expressed that with the evidence and proofs shown in the event called ‘What happened in Bolivia’s 2019 elections and the OAS report? ‘the opposition was practically left without arguments’.

Likewise, he assured, the boring speeches of fraud in the elections two years ago ‘now fall on deaf ears’, after the last audit carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office.

In the latter, El Pueblo emphasized, ‘there are no indications of manipulation of the elections of that year’.

It is explained that several months ago the ‘false hypothesis’ was disproved thanks to investigations carried out by the Latin American Strategic Center for Geopolitics, the University of Salamanca of Spain, the Carolina Foundation and the Center for Economic and Policy Research.

To these were added a study developed by experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The New York Times, which had access to the work of independent specialists.

All these investigations are in addition to the work of the Bolivian Attorney General’s Office, which reviewed and analyzed 34,555 registers of the electoral process during five days in the city of El Alto, in the department of La Paz, with the presence of international guests, he said.

Only 15 of them, which ‘do not represent even 0.004 percent’ of the total ballots, showed ‘mistakes in the placement of votes in erroneous political fronts’, among other minor flaws corrected by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, said attorney Wilfredo Chávez at the event.

It is estimated that this was the trigger used by the right wing ‘to generate chaos, conflict and death’ in the country, which led to the departure of Evo Morales from power despite being the winner of the elections.
