The incident occurred in the municipality of Qamishli, in the province of Hasakeh, 700 kilometers northeast of Damascus, when an army checkpoint on the strategic M4 highway that connects the provinces of Hasakeh and Aleppo, blocked the road and forced the convoy to turn back.
Images released by local media showed five armored vehicles returning to areas controlled by pro-US separatist militias, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), after a face-to-face discussion between the US military and its translator, and the Syrian official responsible for the military point.
Such incidents are very frequent between the military and residents on the one hand and US troops on the other, the last one was reported on July 28, when a group of locals intercepted a US military convoy.
