‘Boys and girls will return to schools, but with biosecurity. We will fight this pandemic to win the battle for health protection together,’ the president tweeted.
The head of State called on Venezuelan families to raise children’s awareness on the importance of complying with protection measures against this disease when returning to school.
‘Mothers, fathers and representatives must raise our boys’ and girls’ awareness to strengthen safety and self-protection back in schools. Everybody must work to protect our children in this new school year,’ he said.
On Thursday, the president reported on the beginning of the vaccination of minors aged 12 to 18 on Monday, as part of the gradual increase in actions to control the pandemic.
Health authorities are planning to immunize 95 percent of the vaccine-eligible population before the end of 2021, in order to start the administration of booster shots in the first quarter of 2022.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Venezuelan government has reported 397,370 Covid-19 cases, 378,087 recovered patients and 4,775 deaths.
