Storm Aurora affects power and transportation in northern France

Paris, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Storm Aurora and its winds of 100 kilometers per hour on Thursday maintain lashing north of France after severe affectations in power service and train transportation were reported in the last few hours.

The first meteorological phenomenon of its kind in the winter season hit Brittany and Normandy regions on Wednesday evening.

At 06:00 local time on Thursday, 13 departments placed on orange alert due to the threat of strong winds.

According to the power grid operator ENEDIS, about 250,000 homes are deprived of electricity after the passage of the storm.

Aurora is moving inland France, and the northeastern departments of Ardennes, Marne and Meuse are on orange vigilance, the second highest alert level in the country, Meteo France informed.
