Russia Covid-19 numbers rising

Moscow, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Russia reported today 36,339 new cases of Covid-19, a new maximum since the beginning of the pandemic, a number that reaches eight million 131,164 positive.

The figure implies an increase of 0.45 percent with respect to the previous day, informed the national center for fighting the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The highest numbers belong to the capital (7,897), followed by St. Petersburg (3,280), Moscow region (2,318), Samara region (937), Nizhny Novgorod (737) and Voronezh (708).

In the last 24 hours, 1,036 people lost their lives to the disease, the highest number of deaths in one day from that cause, for a total of 227,389 and a mortality rate of 2.8 percent.

The highest number of deaths were also diagnosed in this city (77), St. Petersburg (68), Krasnodar region (41), Nizhny Novgorod region (40), Sverdlovsk region and the Republic of Bashkortostan (36).

At the moment, 812,168 people are still under treatment in the Eurasian nation. On the last day, 25,895 patients were discharged from hospital. In total 7,091,607 persons have received treatment, which represents 87.2 percent of all the infections.
