One bomb exploded as the vehicle was passing and five minutes later another one exploded at the site when civilians crowded to rescue the victims, police officials told Prensa Latina, which was at the scene of the incident.
They added that a third bomb was defused by sappers in the same place and denounced that the objective of the masterminds of this crime is to cause the greatest number of victims.
The attack occurred in Jisr al-Rais, a central area that is very crowded by civilians and where the bus terminal connecting Damascus with the surrounding localities is located.
Since the capital’s peripheral areas were liberated from terrorism in the summer of 2018, Damascus has been experiencing a calm that was disturbed by attacks on military and civilian figures.
