The Vice Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, highlighted that after a decrease in the economy of the South American nation of 11 percentage points during the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez, currently there is an increase of 9.2 according to the Global Index of Economic Activity.
She underlined that studies by international organizations put Bolivia in the first place of public investment in Latin America.
In the first semester of 2021, the Gross Domestic Product registered an accumulated variation of 9.36 percent with respect to similar period of the previous year, reported the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
According to INE, the figure shows the recovery of economic activity after the health, social and financial effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the negative measures implemented in the 2020 by the previous government.
Among the countries of the South American region, Bolivia registers the third highest growth rate – after Peru (20.88 percent) and Argentina (10.27 percent) – a sign of the success of the economic and social policies promoted by the Government, according to experts.
Alcón regretted that in view of the achievements of President Arce’s administration, the opposition seeks to destabilize the country.
