On its website, the ‘telephone’ team noted that the Cuban cyclist, who ranks fifth in the long-distance race of the Road World Championship, is one of the most accomplished ones of the World Tour and her contribution will be vital for the team’s results.
Meanwhile, the Cuban athlete, originally from Granma province, said that she was very happy to join the team, thanked the trust placed in her by the board and assured she will make the most of this opportunity.
The team is headed by Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten, three times world champion, who won the time trial at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Other team members are Paula Patiño (Colombia), Katrine Aalerud (Norway), Aude Biannic (France), Jelena Eri (Serbia), Alicia Gonzalez (Spain), Barbara Guarischi (Italy), Sheyla Gutierrez (Spain), Sara Martin (Spain), Emma Norsgaard (Denmark), Lourdes Oyarbide (Spain), Gloria Rodriguez (Sain) and Sarah Gigante (Australia).
