The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, indicated 19 deaths from complications associated with Covid-19, risen the death toll to 8,037.
Duran detailed that 31,252 diagnostic tests were carried out on Friday across the national territory to detect the presence of the virus, a figure that amounted to 10,142,313 since March 2020.
The expert added that 8,781 active cases are admitted to the hospital, 8,505 of them with stable clinical evolution, 187 in serious condition and 89 in critical state.
Regarding the diagnosis in children under 20 years old, he reported 392 afflicted, 374 of them in pediatric ages and two newborns, for a daily average of 644 infections in the last 15 days.
There have been 3,423 recoveries from Covid-19, accumulating 915, 893 (98.2 percent) recoveries, not free of sequels, the specialist noted.
The western province of Pinar del Rio registered the highest number of cases with 369, followed by Camaguey (center) with 317 and in the east of the country Las Tunas confirmed 236 Covid-19 patients, figures lower than previous days, which show the control of the pandemic.
Reporting on the progress of the vaccination with the Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus vaccines (recoveries from Covid-19) from the Finlay Vaccine Institute; and Abdala, from the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Dr. Duran highlighted that 23,920,914 doses have been administered.
