Cuba thanks food donation from St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Havana, Oct 15 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Friday thanked for a food donation stemming from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a nation that has reiterated its condemnation of the US blockade against Cuba.

Cuba´s Vice Minister of Internal Trade Grisel Ávila stressed this solidarity supports the plan for preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, and also helps to counteract the negative effect of the US blockade.

According to Cuba´s TV news, the donation includes 15 containers, 10 of which have corn flour and the rest rice.

Ambassador of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Cuba Ellsworth I. A. John said his people consider it as a moral obligation to back Cuba at a time when the economic, commercial and financial US blockade is tightening despite Covid-19.

A freight with medical supplies sent by Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines arrived recently in Havana to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

At that reception, Ambassador Ellsworth I. A. John recalled Cuban doctors´ solidarity amid complex circumstances and also the assistance for the construction of the Argyle International Airport.

During the last weeks, donations from Russia, Mexico, Italy, Canada, Bolivia, Argentina and other nations with food, supplies and medicines have arrived in Cuba.
