India resumes Covid-19 vaccine export

New Delhi, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) India´s Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday said that coronavirus vaccine doses have been sent to Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Iran in order to fight the Covid-19 pandemic according to the government's decision to resume their supplies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said recently at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that Indian will resume supply of coronavirus vaccine doses and has decided to start with the neighborhood, Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said. Vaccine shipments were recently transferred to these countries, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated.

‘We will decide on further supplies based on our production and demand,’ Bagchi said.

India, the world’s largest producer of vaccines overall, suspended exports of COVID-19 vaccines in April to focus on inoculating its own population following a sudden spike in infections.
