According to a publication in La Ventana website, the creation of the newsletter was thanks to the efforts of a team guided by Guatemalan writer Manuel Galich who sought to found a means of communication, visibility and living thought about the scene of the peoples.
The review, a source for multiple dialogue, which has an online version, has facilitated interaction amid the Covid-19 crisis and has been open for creation and feedback among the culturists of the specialty and amateurs who seek refuge in the theater.
According to the article, the current edition opens with a collective testimony of the meeting that temporarily replaced the traditional ‘Mayo Teatral’ (May Theater) event, and brought together relevant artists from 19 countries, united by websites to share circumstances and projections. The issue also includes the ‘Ningun lugar’ (Nowhere) play by Brazilian Sergio de Carvalho, who recreates Chekhovian situations and atmospheres, and contextualizes the existential with the epic perspective to examine facets of the crisis Brazil is going through.
The publication includes the voices of experienced exponents such as Lowell Fiet and Misael Torres, who reflect on popular theater from different perspectives and practices, and six theater photographers who talk about stage creation based on their personal scope.
‘Conjunto 200’ also offers a commentary by Carlos Gil Zamora on ‘Los cinco continentes del teatro’ (The five continents of theater) volume, in which its authors, Eugenio Barba and Nicola Savarese, examine theater and acknowledge the contribution of almost 40 Latin American and Caribbean artists.
