The group, led by Shi’ite Muslim cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, obtained 70 seats so far, followed by the Islamic Dawa Party, also known as the Islamic Call Party, by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
According to spokesman Ibrahim al-Jabri, the Movement won 28 seats in Baghdad, eight in Dhi Qar province, seven in Maysan, five in Wasit and Najaf, four in Karbala, three in Al-Jadwaniyah, nine in Basra, two in Babylon and two others in Samawa.
Muqtada al-Sadr called for no foreign interference in the Mesopotamian country in the formation of the next Government.
The Iraqi legislative elections convened some 25 million citizens in the face of the total withdrawal of US troops, scheduled for December 31.
They are also the fifth since the 2003 US-led military invasion and occupation, which tried to impose Western political values on an ancient nation.
