Evo Morales recalls Che Guevara’s imperishable legacy

La Paz, (Prensa Latina) Former Bolivian President Evo Morales on Saturday recalled the imperishable legacy of guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, who was assassinated 54 years ago in this South American country.

On Twitter, Morales highlighted the revolutionary, humanitarian and integrationist nature of Che, whom he described as a liberator of the humble along with Fidel (Castro) and many other visionaries who gave their live for the peoples of the world.

The Argentine-Cuban guerrilla combatant became an iconic figure for the peoples and revolutionaries of the world and he continues today to inspire resistance against imperial rule, therefore, citizens, social organizations and progressive forces remember him every October and pay him tribute.

Guevara landed in Cuba with revolutionary leader Fidel and 80 other expedition members on the ‘Granma’ yacht in 1956 to set a guerrilla warfare into motion in ‘Sierra Maestra’ mountain range (east) against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1959).

After the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, between 1965 and 1967, Che fought in Congo and Bolivia, where he was captured and assassinated by the army, following orders from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)of the United States.
