A heartfelt tribute to the man who dreamed and fought for a possible better world and joined the historical leader and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, to fight for the Cuban Revolution, was paid at the headquarters of the Cuban embassy in Buenos Aires.
There, Cuban elementary school students paid tribute to the heroic guerrilla with poems, songs and also the opening of an exhibition with drawings of their interpretations of Che, where many of them reflect the deep ties of friendship and love between Cuba and Argentina.
Cuba’s homage to Che is another of the tributes paid in several parts of Argentina on Friday, where social organizations and political figures vindicated the ideals of the guerrilla fighter and called to strengthen the unity on the continent to achieve the dreamed Patria Grande (Great Homeland).
Several media outlets also recalled the revolutionary leader, such as Pagina 12, which published an article by renowned journalist Luis Bruschtein.
‘The years go by and Che Guevera remains as if he were the eternal figure and had been invented by Hector Oesterheld. Always the same and always different. Because the epochs choose from Che what they prefer. From that background of the fighter against injustice,’ he says.
He also stresses that the guerrillaman ‘is the idealist, the Marxist.’ Che is one and a thousand, but in all of them he embodies the ancestral impulse of humanity to rebel against injustice, the impulse on which hope rides, without which life is impossible.’
