The ex-convicts arrived at Las Américas airport aboard on a charter and escorted by US federal agents who handed them over to officials of the General Directorate of Migration, Drug Control and the Specialized Airport Security Corps.
Upon arriving at the air terminal, the ex-convicts underwent rigorous check-ups by Dominican immigration and health authorities before getting on the buses that drove them to the Migration Directorate in the Haina community of San Cristóbal.
With this group, the number of Dominicans repatriated from the United States has jumped to 2,283 so far this year.
