The forum, to be run until Friday, October 8, at the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles in Paris, will gather more than 34,000 delegates and host 150 conference sessions, amid expectations for the return of the fair.
Every year, IFTM Top Resa arouses great interest among tourism executives, travel agents, tour operators, airline companies and specialized journalists.
This time, the travel agencies will be particularly prominent, in line with their role in the recovery of tourism in the post-Covid-19 world, a sector with huge economic losses globally due to the pandemic.
As it is traditional, Latin America and the Caribbean will be present at the fair, although the participation of representatives from the region will be affected in relation to previous events, as of the problems with the transatlantic travels due to the health restrictions still in force.
Argentina, Cuba, Bahamas, Mexico and Dominican Republic are some of the countries participating in the forum.
In declarations to Prensa Latina, Diana Rosa Gonzalez, Tourism adviser at the Cuban Embassy in France, considered Top Resa 2021 an opportunity to spread the island’s latest attractions, which will promote the so-called Smokeless Industry as of November 15, after several months of limitations imposed by Covid-19.
According to Gonzalez, Cuba is represented at Top Resa 2021 by the Tourism Office at the Embassy in Paris and Havanatur tour operator, with a 14-square-meter stand.
