Cuban musician Pepe Lopez, author of the song ‘Por un abrazo (For a hug),’ same name of this initiative promoted by ANAIC and EGREM (Enterprise of Recordings and Musical Editions), in collaboration with the Neos Airline, the Italian Recreational and Cultural Association (ARCI) and Timbalaye, traveled with the first of several shipments.
This donation of 17 cubic meters and 2,000 kilograms, transported to Havana by Neos, will be followed by another shipment of 30 cubic meters and some 4,000 kg on October 19.
The flight was seen off at Milan’s Malpensa Airport by ANAIC President Marco Papacci, a member of its National Secretariat, Irma Dioli, and other members of this solidarity organization.
Papacci told Prensa Latina that the donation, destined for the intensive care unit of the Calixto Garcia Hospital and the Trinidad and Sancti Spiritus municipalities, contains 100,000 face masks, 200 Multicath catheters, 10,000 syringes and other supplies, worth around 50,000 euros.
