Kabul airport expects international flights to Afghanistan

Kabul, Oct 3 (Prensa Latina) Kabul airport is ready to receive international flights, the Afghan civilian aviation authorities announced today.

Domestic flights have already begun and the facilities are able to resume normal activity as technical problems have been resolved in recent days, the Tolo News channel reported.

The Kabul airport received in recent days a number of flights from Qatar, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, also according to the source.

According to the spokesman for the Afghan civil aviation authority, Mohammad Naeem Salehi, asked neighboring countries and the international community to reopen flights.

Dozens of Afghans who obtained visas from Iran and Pakistan complained that ticket prices have risen sharply in Kabul lately.

The owners of some tourism businesses also confirmed that the costs of air tickets increased in Kabul.

‘The ticket price for Pakistan ranged between $150 and $200 and now they have risen to $1,200,’ said Masoud Bina, head of the Afghanistan tourism businesses union.

The civilian aviation authority added that the airport received more than 10 international flights that transported mostly aid for Afghanistan from Qatar, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
