Signed on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai at the request of the Ministry of Health, the decision resolves that the document comes from the National Vaccine Fund, and consists of donations from companies, charitable organizations and citizens in general.
The Ministry of Health will be responsible for reporting to the prime minister about the management, use, payment and liquidation of the funds ‘in an economical, efficient, public and transparent manner,’ the text stated.
In fact, the first five million doses of Abdala (CIGB-66) -of 10 million doses agreed upon- arrived in Vietnam on September 25, aboard the plane that brought President Nguyen Xuan Phuc home after visiting Cuba and the United Nations.
Another 150,000 doses donated by Cuba came on the same flight, whose technology will be also transferred to Vietnam to produce them.
The Vietnamese Government entrusted its Ministry of Health, in coordination with local specialized agencies, to carry out the necessary tests to validate the quality of the vaccine before it is administered to the population.
