The MESC, which is made up of 54 Cuba solidarity organizations, disqualified ‘the lies published on local media, which reproduce a press release from ‘Prisoners Defenders’.
In the communiqué, the Euskadi-Cuba Association is accused of ‘destabilizing Europe and Spain’ with its solidarity work and of drawing ‘from European institutional cooperation and development funds’ for ‘intelligence work’.
In this regard, the MESC reiterated its support for the Euskadi-Cuba Association and considered this is an ‘intoxication operation’.
It explained that the organization carries out ‘actions to raise awareness and denounce the criminal blockade by the United States against the Cuban people, paves the way for numerous development cooperation projects in Cuba, mainly in the field of food sovereignty with a gender perspective’.
‘It is an attempt to criminalize solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, based on the publication of lies, without counterbalance or the right to reply, in important media, as well as the use of digital media networks directly financed by the US Government,’ the MESC said.
At the same time, it recognized the work of Cubainformación (www.cubainformacion.tv), ‘a portal that publishes Cuban unknown or silenced realities in mainstream media, among them the initiatives of cooperation and solidarity with the Cuban people against the US blockade.’
