On his Twitter account, the president expressed his gratitude to the ‘brothers of Laos’, and reiterated his country’s support for the Asian nation.

The head of State highlighted the work of the medical center that received the solidarity aid, which has treated more than 19,500 children infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.

Upon delivering the cargo on Thursday, consisting of food and cleaning products, the ambassador of Lao, Anouphone Kittirath, confirmed the admiration and love of her people for Cubans, Cuban News Agency reported.

She also stressed the development of vaccines in Cuba and the immunization campaign despite the obstacles imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States Government.

She said that this symbolic help is a token of the brotherhood and affection that unites the two countries, which share strong ties of struggle; and recalled the support from Cuba to to achieve the independence of Laos.
