The spokesman also criticized Europe’s non-compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal, by not responding to the US withdrawal or its oppressive measures against the Islamic Republic.
Khatibzadeh explained that the reduction of Iranian nuclear obligations does not imply any violation of the NPT.
The measures taken by Iran respond to a coercive US policy, with which it aspires to rewrite the JCPOA, although, he said, if all signatories return to compliance with the pact, Tehran will do so as well.
So far, Washington continues to follow Trump’s policy, while Iran will only accept an original JCPOA and no more and no less that all sanctions are lifted.
