On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister assured, ‘with all responsibility, that Washington has not offered Covid-19 vaccine doses to Cuba, or anything,’ to act in the face of the health crisis.

‘They have done the opposite, by hampering the purchase of supplies for Cuba´s vaccination campaign and the national medicine production,’ he live-tweeted.

He recalled that at this time the United States has rolled out over 240 coercive measures imposed under the Donald Trump administration (2017-2021), even though President Joe Biden vowed to make a review on them.

In this regard, Bruno Rodríguez stressed that President Biden ‘did not even include Cuba among countries to which the United States lifted the unilateral measures that limited its ability to fight Covid-19.’

‘His callousness has cost lives,’ remarked the head of Cuban diplomacy in a tweet.

On Thursday, Rodríguez strongly rejected the US actions on Cuba, including trade, travel and financial restrictions, in addition to the inclusion of Cuba on the unilateral list of alleged states sponsors of terrorism.

However, in an interview with NBC, Bruno Rodríguez claimed that, in spite of US hostilities, Cuba remains willing to resume talks biased by Trump after he took office.
