‘I believe that today’s conversation was constructive (…). The main problems were discussed, the tasks for the next period were identified and specific instructions were given,’ said the president at the event, as the TASS news agency reported.
Tokayev stated that the approved documents refer to the strengthening of commercial and economic ties between the regions and the businessmen of both countries, the conservation and reproduction of Tatar saigas and the Caspian seals, both protected and endangered species.
‘It is especially nice that we have succeeded in weaving the theme of ecology and green development into the traditionally industrial and economic agenda of our forum. This is not a tribute to fashion, but an urgent necessity. This is in fact the future of our states,’ Tokayev said.
The forum focused its discussions between Russian and Kazakh representatives on issues related to border waters, climate change and the animal and plant world.
The 6th meeting of the Russian-Kazakh Business Council, dedicated to the role of companies in the joint solution of environmental problems, also took place. It was initially scheduled for November 2020 in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan, but was postponed and the format had to change due to the global impact of Covid-19.
