Congress President Maria del Carmen Alva said early this morning, after a meeting with the president, that he told her that the cabinet of ministers does not share Bellido’s position.
‘We have had a very cordial communication, in which the president said that Bellido’s previous warning that he would carry out a motion of confidence in the entire cabinet of ministers, if necessary, to prevent Maravi’s censure (dismissal) is not the general stance of the cabinet.’
In this case, if the Congress censored the minister, all ministers would be dismissed, and if there were a new collapse of a cabinet, Castillo would have the constitutional authority to dissolve the Congress and convene a new legislative election.
‘In Congress, we have always resorted to dialogue to work for governance, that is why we are here, and the issue has been clarified and we are calmed,’ the conservative congresswoman added.
