On his Telegram channel, the Russian lawmaker noted this Wednesday that the proscription on criticizing the vote in the United States and Germany, and the disputes over their results, introduced earlier through YouTube, should not be selective.
‘The rules of non-interference in the elections of sovereign States should be mandatory for all international ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) companies and must be implemented to all countries,’ he wrote.
Volodin noted that YouTube’s leadership ‘made a civilized decision’ by censoring questions about the elections’ results, but criticized that such rules are only implemented to two countries.
The chairman of Russia’s Lower House stated that such a decision violates the principles of democracy and the rights of citizens across the world.
